8. Emergency Preparedness
Emergency preparedness is based on two different tasks: Training and Response.
Training will be provided on board by the Safety Officer - on shore by the DPA/CSO.
Due to recent refugee issues in the MED area, we provide the official IMO guideline to the ships command.

The IMO publishes a new contact list (MSC-MEPC.6/Circ.x) for the SMPEP quarterly. Only those contacts of the ships trading area must be printed!

Ship/Shore Exercise
Once a year, the DPA/CSO will initiate a safety and security exercise will be held with one ship of the fleet. The report will be sent to all ships of the fleet. Every year, another ship and another scenario will be chosen.

Emergency Instructions
A SOLAS cabin card with necessary basic safety instructions has been developed which shall be posted in each cabin in prominent place.
Furthermore, a poster indicating the Maritime Security (MARSEC) Level, the SSO and Safety Officer assignments shall be posted at the entrance to accommodation.
