4. Designated Person Ashore (DPA) / Company Security Officer (CSO) / Environmental Management Representative (EMR)
General Information
Reporting to: Managing Directors, having direct access to the highest level of management.
Backup: Deputy DPA / Alternate CSO / Deputy EMR
DPA & DDPA Responsibilities & Authority (see DPA duties in SMS):
To ensure the safe operation of each ship and to provide a link between the Company and those on board.
CSO & ACSO Responsibilities & Authority (see SSP for more details):
To ensure that a Ship Security Assessment (SSA) is carried out; that a Ship Security Plan (SSP) is developed, submitted for approval, and thereafter implemented and maintained.
EMR & DEMR Responsibilities & Authority (see EMS for more details):
Implementation and maintenance of EMS according to ISO 14001.
Qualifications (as applicable to the role): CSO, Internal ISM/ISO Auditor and ISO 14001 training courses; leadership and anagement skills.
